Chicago Lupus Database

Establishing in 1991 and maintained by Northwestern University, the Chicago Lupus Database (CLD) is a registry of individuals with lupus who are willing to be contacted about future lupus research studies for which they might be eligible. Men and women 18 years or older with either a probable or definite lupus diagnosis can sign up for the CLD.  Participants can enroll in any number of research studies designed to help us learn more about lupus.

Enrolling in CLD

To enroll in CLD, participants must sign a consent form and medical record release form. The Systemic Lupus Research team will interview prospective participants about their lupus diagnosis and general demographic information to get a sense of study eligibility. Participants will never be enrolled in a research study without a full explanation of the study and receipt of their written consent.  Database members will receive our annual newsletter for updates on our research projects. Individuals need not receive medical care at Northwestern Medicine to be eligible for participation.
